Shining Stars of Indian National Movement and India’s Struggle for Freedom

The first 44 stamps were issued as part of a seven-stamp series between 1983 and 1989 to commemorate the struggle for freedom during India’s fight for independence. These stamps have a vertical tricolour strip on the left and right borders of the stamps.

The other 11 stamps that followed this series have the tricolour strip at the top-left corner of the stamp. These stamps were issued until 1994.
